Lazy Sunday Binge Watch: The Goldbergs

Standard

This one is gonna be short, since it’s pretty late and I have to get to bed!

I rarely watch tv shows when they air. Basically, every show I watch is on a streaming service like Netflix and Hulu. One of the shows I found on Hulu is The Goldbergs. It airs on network tv, so it’s nice that it’s accessible to more people. This show is so funny! It is told from the point of view of this guy, telling stories from his childhood. These stories involve his overbearing Mom, harsh but loving Dad, his older brother and sister, and his Grandpa, along with other recurring characters from school, etc.

It takes place in the 1980s, so there are some references I don’t really understand. But, I get most of them, and the ones I don’t get are still funny! In addition to being laugh out loud funny, there are usually morals or lessons at the end of the episode that are there to make you think.

It is well written, the characters are believable and relatable. The situations aren’t so wacky that the show becomes weird, they are things that I could definitely see happening, which also makes the show more entertaining to me.

I would definitely recommend this show to people who like sitcoms, people who grew up in the 80s, and people who love a good laugh! Check it out!

  1. Ha! No matter when you were born this show is hysterical. The mother definitely has some issues but you can’t help loving her. The kids are an absolute riot & the dad seems to always just want to get away. We would love to adopt the grandpa.
